All HDR students are required to submit a structured mid-term review report to the Curtin Malaysia Graduate School (CMGS) for assessment.
For MPhil students
Full-time: The mid-term review will occur at the 9-month stage.
Part-time: The mid-term review will occur at the 18-month stage.
For PhD students
Full-time: The mid-term review will occur at the 18-month stage.
Part-time: The mid-term review will occur at the 36-month stage.
The report will be reviewed by the independent academic staff member (Internal Assessor). The Internal Assessor should provide formative feedbacks through Mid-Term Assessor Form.
Please be make sure that the Internal Assessor to be formally appointed before Mid-Term stage. To be appointed as the Internal Assessor formally, the independent academic staff member needs to fill in the Nomination of Internal Assessor for HDR Mid-term Report form and submit the form to the Graduate School.
Should the Internal Assessor find that the quality of the research work and/ or the report fail below the expected standard, the HDR student will be required to rewrite and resubmit the report within the time frame set by the Chair of Graduate School.
No students are allowed to submit their final theses for examination until at least six (6) months for full-time or 12 months for part-time HDR students have elapsed after they have satisfied the midterm reporting requirement.
